Georg Licht is head of the ZEW Research Department “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics”. He has been holding this position since June 1994. Before that, he was a senior researcher both at ZEW and the University of Augsburg.
He obtained his doctoral degree in economics at the University of Augsburg and holds a master degree in economics from the University of Heidelberg and a bachelor degree from the Tübingen university. His research interests comprise the economics of innovation and technical change as well as the economics of small firms and entrepreneurship.
He worked as member of various expert group like the “Knowledge for Growth”, “ESIR” or “RISE” for EU’s DG Research. Georg Licht is also consultant to the OECD or German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in the area of innovation and technology policy as well as German Ministry of Economics in the field of early stage financing.
